The Williamson Family established their roots in Oceanside in the late 1940s. In 1952, Sam Williamson, Sr. joined the Marine Corps and served until 1954. In 1960, Tom Kennedy’s Texaco opened its doors on the corner of Crouch Street and Oceanside Boulevard. It was the first business excursion for what would later become the Williamson Family we know today. In 1963, Sam Williamson, Sr. became an Allstate Agent and began protect the assets of North San Diego County residents. He was promoted to District Manager in 1968 after a track record of success. In 1975, Sam and Sharon Williamson graduated from Oceanside High School. Sam played baseball and football while Sharon and the girls ran the tennis courts as CIF Champions. On June 23rd of 1979, Sam and Sharon Williamson were married in the San Luis Rey Mission. Also in 1979, Sam Williamson, Jr. became a Farmers Agent and joined his father in protecting the residents of North San Diego County from catastrophic losses. Sam Williamson, Sr. was elected to City Council in 1984, and in 1986 played a major role to help the City of Oceanside rebuild its fishing pier. 1986 was also the year that Sam Williamson, Jr. joined the Chamber of Commerce and began helping Oceanside’s small businesses grow. 1988 was another big year for Sam Williamson, Sr. as he played a key part in the building of the new Oceanside Civic Center at the same time he and his wife, Marcia, were Co-Chairs for the City of Oceanside Centennial Celebration. In 1990, Sam Williamson, Jr. became President of the Oceanside Chamber of Commerce. He later left the Chamber of Commerce in 1994 to spend more time with his family and focus more his client’s needs.  Sam and Sharon have two daughters that both graduated from El Camino High School, Sara and Shawna. Both are teachers now and give back to the community just as much as their parents. They also have two young grand-daughters that give the Williamsons even more reason to keep giving back the community of North County San Diego.
